Fundamental
Fundamentals – Combo Circuit 2
Set Up: Six players are set up inside of the grid, starting at the cones.
Procedure: Player A begins play with a double pass combination with Player B, and then lays the ball off for Player C. Player C plays the ball thru to Player D, running from the corner, and he finishes the sequence with a pass to Player E. Player E returns the ball to Player B to re-start the sequence in another direction. After five minutes, the two players in the center rotate to a new starting position on the outside.
Teaching Topics:
1 Passing.
2 Timing the runs.
3 Speed of play.
Progressions:
1 All players use quick two-touch passing.
Coaching Points:
1 A poor first pass in the double pass combination will likely lead to a poor second pass.
2 Player D should hold his run until the entire play develops.
3 Play a one-touch thru pass so that Player D doesn’t have to wait for the ball.
