Show and Tell – Passing Patterns

Set Up: Six players are set up in the small grid, with players starting at the cones.
Procedure: Player A opens up and passes across the grid to Player B. Player B plays the ball up to Player C, who lays the ball off for Player D. Player D plays back to Player E, who finishes the sequence with a pass across to Player F. Player F then re-starts the drill in the opposite direction. After five minutes, the players rotate to new starting positions.

Teaching Topics:
1 Speed of play.
2 Passing.
3 Checking runs.

Progressions:
1 Player A can also pass to Player E to start the drill.

Coaching Points:
1 Use one touch passes whenever possible, and two touches when you have to.
2 Before passing, look up and check for the target at least once.
3 Players B and F should check away and then break back to the ball to receive.
