Fundamental

Back Passing Session – Turning, Passing

Procedure:

Part One: Player A dribbles up to Player B, turns away, and then passes back to Player C. Player C passes across the field to Player D, who dribbles up to Player E. Player D turns, and the ball moves from D > F > G. Players go to the line that they passed to during the drill.

Progression 1 – Practice particular turning moves during the drill.

Part Two: Player A dribbles up to Player B, turns away, and then passes back to Player C. Player C opens up with his first touch and plays the ball out wide to Player D. Player D begins the next sequence by dribbling at Player E and turning back. The ball is then passed from D > F > G. Players go to the line that they passed to during the drill.

Progression 1 – Add a Rover and allow the central player (Player C) to pass to any open player (Player D or F)

Coaching Points:
1 Turning – Dribble at full
speed and explode out of
the turn.
2 Communication – Call for Player A to turn, and then call for the back pass.
3 Receiving – Open up with the first touch and look to the opposite side.
